This photo shoot was particularly satisfying for me. Not only did I direct the shoot, I got to star in it. I and a photographer student friend climbed Camelback Mountain at dawn to capture the early morning light. It was difficult for me as I had recently been hit by a car while walking across the street (at a cross walk) and hadn't worn closed-toe shoes since the accident. It was very painful and I was so glad to get the boots off afterward. The results were worth it.

Sometimes the best shots are not staged. I was having difficulty climbing and had to use my hands.

These boots are 30 years old and except one small spot (hidden by pant leg) where my dog chewed them, they are still in great shape.
